Jeni's Everything Bagel Ice Cream

[New for 2021] A few weeks ago, Jeni's offered to send me their new Homemade Banana Bread flavor plus a few extra pints. I instantly said yes without even asking what else would be in the shipment (because Jeni's!). Technically I should have tried that banana flavor first, but I just couldn't resist trying this very limited edition flavor first. I am afraid, but also terribly intrigued...

Jeni's Everything Bagel Ice Cream

I kind of expected it to smell like an everything bagel.

Now we're getting somewhere!

Wow, yeah, that's tastes like an everything bagel! I've tested it, and I'm good now....

.....No, I'll press on!

It's so very potent.... but it's not disgusting, at least not in a traditional sense.
It's not like everything bagels aren't popular.

I'm going to be tasting this for the rest of the day, aren't I?

It's certainly a quality ice cream, and this pint tastes nice and fresh.

I was thinking "why do I have the urge for something sweet right now?" and then it dawned on me that this is a salty flavor. [9% of your daily sodium per serving is a lot for ice cream]

I'm still scooping! There are these interesting little dough balls of something every now and then. Oh, those most be the "butter streusel laden with sesame and poppy seeds". Interesting!

Question: Would this make a good milkshake?

I don't know if I necessarily taste cream cheese per say, but I think it's there.... let's just say you won't be focusing on it, but I think it's the thing that is binding this all together.

Ok, I should probably stop. If this one intrigues you, I say go for it, just don't expect it to not taste like an everything bagel. Or if you need an altenate description, I think this pint reminds me of sour cream and onion potato chips.

Funny thought: I think that strong aftertaste kind of encourages you to keep going!

On Second Scoop: (on the to-do list still)

Verdict?  better than expected!
Buy Again?  doubtful, but I'm very glad I got to try it.

  1. Wow, I think it's been years since I've seen a Jeni's review on here. While this flavor doesn't really appeal to me, I'm glad the brand is still of such high quality.
