Ben & Jerry's Topped Raspberry Cheesecake

[New for Early 2023] Ben & Jerry's has always done a good job with the cheesecake based flavors, but it's funny to think that this is the first time that they are mixing it in to the Topped lineup. I'm pretty stoked, so let's get the spoons ready for...

Ben & Jerry's Topped Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream
cheesecake ice cream with raspberry swirls & graham pieces
Topped with White Chocolate Ganache & Graham Cracker Crumble

Everyone remembers I love graham right? Ok, good!
(I suspect this topping might go everywhere though...)

I made it through the top layer without making too big of a mess. I definitely got a bit of flavorful tartness on that first bite. I think I need to get a bit more ice cream on the next bite to balance things out.

I like that there is tons of raspberry flavor coming from the base. There just aren't enough strong fruity flavors around these days. That said, I feel like there is just something that isn't completely clicking with me.

I can't quite put my finger on what's not clicking... and I just spilled all the loose graham cracker crumbs on to my desk. Yup, knew that was gonna happen.

Between the ganache and everything else, it's flavorful enough that little bites (small scoops) are more than sufficient. I almost wonder if a little whipped cream would help balance things out.

Yeah, I'm not going to have a finely tuned opinion on this first scooping. This one is typical Ben & Jerry's quality, and we've got a fairly unique mix of stuff going on. Something just isnt clicking today.

On Second Scoop: I can't put my finger on it, but I still can't get in to this one. Do I want more of a cheesey factor maybe? We may never know....  but what I do know is that I mixed it with a bit of vanilla ice cream and I think I liked it more... that happens sometimes. What do you think?

Verdict?  technically good but didn't click

  2. I'm glad it's cheesecake ice cream this time around. The main reason I'm not a fan of their strawberry version is because they chose a "strawberry cheesecake" base that just tastes like a sweet strawberry ice cream, and the cheesecake element gets lost. I'm sorry this flavor wasn't clicking for you though.

  3. I’m definitely not a fan of opening an ice cream that spilled gram cracker crumbs all over when you open. I originally thought there was something wrong and had to look it up. Didn’t see topped at all when I ordered it. Was expecting a nice raspberry swirl ice cream w cheesecake chunks and some graham crackers mixed in. Not a hard rock of graham with crumbs all over my counter and floor. Had to dig through that to get to a bland ice cream that definitely felt undesirable. Actually dumpers it I was so disappointed and didn’t want to waste calories on something that wasn’t pleasing. Definitely disappointed!

  4. I assume you also complain about the Talenti layered pints not being 16oz as well despite being in the exact same size container? Sure, Ben & Jerry's ditched a whopping 0.8 fl oz of ice cream to make room for the topping, but are you really that disappointed?
