Graeter's Toffee Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

For Christmas, my in laws decided to surprise me with a delivery of the holiday pack from Graeter's ice cream. It is a six pint pack that comes with cinnamon, eggnog, peppermint stick, vanilla, black raspberry chocolate chip and...

Graeter's Toffee Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
vanilla ice cream with Heath toffee pieces and milk chocolate chips

...and that looks absolutely delightful. I love how the toffee has just melted in to puddles. I take a few bites and the flavoring of the toffee is excellent. Since Graeters doesn't put descriptions on (*the front or top of) their pints, I wasn't sure what the base would be but it's just vanilla ice cream.

Ahhhh! I can't get to my afternoon ice cream because there's a chocolate iceberg in my way! It doesn't even fit on my spoon! I feel like I need to get a knife to cut through it. (for the record, it broke apart in to layers when I pushed in to it with my spoon).

Mmmmm, big toffee piece (like the one circled above). The edge of the toffee may melt but there is still a.... oh that was good. Anyway, there is still a crunchy part underneath the puddle and it's delightful. Please note that this is the kind of toffee that has almonds in it. Man I wish the base had more toffee flavor to it. Mmmm another crunchy toffee bit. Spot on with the toffee Graeters, you need to add more of it!

If you can get a scoop that has some melting base, some toffee, and just a bit of chocolate, you will have yourself a heavenly bite of ice cream. This has been a very enjoyable snack.

On Second Scoop: Sure I would love more of the toffee but the simple fact that it's an excellent toffee is a victory all in itself. While it would be oh so easy to inhale the what's left, I'm making this a three serving pint since each 1/2 cup costs 330 calories. If you see this, be sure to give it a try (may your pint be overloaded with toffee!)

Verdict?  delicious
Buy Again?  ofcourse

  1. Actually, Graeter's DOES put descriptions on each pint - you have to read the blurb under the woman's photo on the side of the pint. Yes, that contains the description. The descriptions are also available on Graeter's website, in the online shop :)

  2. One of my absolute favorites! I am in NJ, so Graeter's is not readily available, but anytime I make it to PA, I buy the stuff almost daily! Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip is also fantastic, and I tried Bourbon Ball, which was a shop exclusive when I was in Kentucky!

  3. I would try to defend myself but you know what, I totally spaced on the side description. As for the website, I think their descriptions can be a little vague at times, but for toffee cc it's pretty straight forward. thanks for the tip, review updated!

  4. @Anton: how bourbon-y is that flavor? I see it on occasion but fear I won't like it.

  5. Barley any bourbon in the base. You should be fine. I am not a drinker and I enjoyed the pint.

  7. Do you have a Harris Teeter because they carry Graeters ice cream now and I think some Krogers do as well since it's a Cincinnati based store.
