Hershey's Peanut Butter Pretzel Ice Cream

[By Nick] Hershey's has been on point with their limited edition game as of late. Everything is following trends it seems and I'm all for it. Let's look at another limited edition I grabbed from the Niskayuna Co-op.

Hershey's Peanut Butter Pretzel Ice Cream (Limited Edition)
Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Fudge Swirls and Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Chubby Hubby is the greatest peanut butter & pretzel flavor on the market so let's see what Hershey's can bring to the table.

Well there are some fudge injections (still not a swirl) and pretzel pieces visible throughout. Not as much as I'd like but I always want more mix-ins. The peanut butter base is the same as I encountered in their Peanut Butter Caramel Cookie Dough flavor. It's still not that strongly flavored but it's definitely peanut buttery.

The chocolate sauce is just that, chocolate. It's syrupy and tastes like standard chocolate sauce. Nothing mind blowing but works with the peanut butter base.

The problem here are the pretzels. They're stale, very very very stale. This is the biggest risk when using pretzels and sadly, they just didn't execute it properly. It's a shame because the taste is there but the stale pretzels kill everything.

Better luck next time Hershey's.

Verdict?  Stale pretzels are saddening
Buy again?  Nope

  2. Peter, they're available mainly in convenience stores and gas stations. I'm lucky enough to have a co-op that carries them around me though.

  3. @Peter,

I moved from the DC area about a year ago and had never seen Hershey's either. Now I live a few hours away in a tiny town with a locally owned grocery store and they carry the entire line.

If you ever run across a Wawa they carry the pints.

  4. It's good but I think it would be wayyyy better without so much chocolate at the bottom. The chocolate sauce overpowers everything and it's bitter and thick
