Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Pints
Chocolate Chip and Cookies n' Cream

[By Nick, New for 2014] ‎Seeing as I still have 3 flavors from my free Baskin-Robbin's shipment to cover and one will be used in a future Friday Night Fight, let's combine the other two into one post! The main reason behind this combination is that these two flavors share the same base and they're both pretty simple. I mean chocolate chip and cookies and cream aren't the most creative flavors out there but they are staples among most ice cream companies.

Let's start things off with their Chocolate Chip. ‎After my experience with Graeter's Chocolate Chip, Baskin-Robbins has some big shoes to fill. Especially considering that I'm not in the chocolate chip ice cream demographic. (it exists, just look at the outrage on Haagen-Dazs facebook page over them discontinuing their Vanilla Chocolate Chip) While the vanilla ice cream in this flavor is pretty good, it's nothing to really right home about. The same thing goes for their semi-sweet chocolate chips. This flavor is as basic as it gets and it's really not all that interesting to me. I'm sure others who prefer simplistic ice cream will appreciate it but I want a little bit more going on. Heck, adding a fudge swirl would excite things up a bit.

Next up, Cookies n' Cream. Now you all know Dubba and I are fans of C&C flavors and that's the case here as well. There's just something perfect about the combination of sandwich cookies and ice cream that makes this a tried and true flavor. Now this isn't the best C&C I've had by a long shot but it's not the worse either. BR doesn't skimp on the quantity of cookies and the vanilla base is still respectable. ‎It's what you want from a C&C and there's really nothing for me to complain about. With Gelato Fiasco's and Chocolate Shoppe's versions on the market however, I don't think I'd see myself buying this on my own. This flavor would do in a fix but given the choice there's other C&Cs that I would reach for first.

Verdict?  Safe, properly executed flavors but nothing special
Buy Again?  Too many more interesting flavors on the market
