What's your favorite frozen fall flavor?

Ok, over on our facebook page I've created a Fall 2013 preview album. It's got some new stuff we've seen in store, a few classics that are back, as well as news as it comes in. Let us know what you like, what you've seen, and what you're looking forward to. Feel free to submit pictures through the facebook page or by emailing secondscoop at gmail.com. So far it seems just about everything is pumpkin flavored. Come on companies, spice things up a little!

P.S. Maybe you can be the 500th person to like our facebook page!

  1. Where did you find the Breyers Blasts Oreo Cookies and Scream? I'm surprised they couldn't put in an orange swirl for a little bit of difference in the actual product.

  2. The TH Whoopie Pie flavor is a fall exclusive I think and it's really good. Incredibly sweet, but really good.

  3. @Anon: yeah, Breyers put in bare minimum effort. Why they couldn't use halloween oreos (or something else fun) is beyond me.

@Trampus: funny, yeah, I had thought about throwing that in the fall collection, but then I was thinking that it's their sept flavor and didnt fall in the oct/nov timeframe I was aiming for.

  4. Edy's Pumpkin Patch, for sure, although Kroger made a premium Pumpkin Hazelnut Cheesecake Ice Cream that I once had and it was outstanding. I am hoping to try both Hershey's Pumpkin and Baskin Robbins' Pumpkin Pie if my local hand-dipped stores ever get them in.

  5. @Anon: I've seen Cookies & Scream at Stop & Shop (Giant). Should be popping up in other locations I would think.

  6. Dubba,

Ooops, looks like I inadvertantly mixed up two flavors. It was "just" Cheesecake. Still good.

I might make some fall/winter flavors of my own now that I am making more of my own ice cream. I'd like to do a roasted kabocha squash flavor with brown butter.

  7. Any word on Ben & Jerry's Pumpkin Cheesecake coming back? Was on of my favorites--just wish it wasn't exclusive to Walmart.

Also, B&J's need to resurrect Festivus.

  8. @Anon: it's come out three years running, I'd be surprised if it didn't come back again. We'll keep a look out for you.

  9. @Anon: They responded to a similar question on facebook and said they're running batches at to expect it in stores Mid-October or so. I saw it in stores other than Wal-Mart last year so I believe it's no longer exclusively sold there.

  10. I'm a rotten ice cream eater of late. I'll have to check out the stores this weekend! I always love TH Whoopie Pie and Pumpkin Pie, but I wanna see if my stores carry the Alden Pumpkin Pie :)
