Stuff'd by Turkey Hill Nutty Chocolate Moose Tracks

[Discontinued] It was nice to finally spend a little spring time outside with my daughter. It was a little cold and a little breezy, but the sun was shining and that's all that really matters. As is typical weekend tradition, when we come back in, it's ice cream time!! My daughter was asking for something in a bowl, and I think I have just the trick. I finally spied an elusive pint of Turkey Hill at Market Basket. It's called Stuff'd and there are now were 10 flavors.

The Stuff'd flavor that MB had was Denali Chocolate Nutty Moose Tracks. It certainly looks tasty enough, and there's no denying that moose looks pretty nutty! (I'll admit, he makes me laugh). Our pint sized friend here is described as Chocolate light ice cream with choco peanuts, peanut butter cups, and Moose Tracks fudge. Sounds like it's time to put a chocolate craving out of it's misery.

And here we are, a typical airy looking light ice cream with several nice looking tracks of thick fudge... but ...where are all the Stuff'd bits? I hit a peanut butter cup as I set up this shot, but that's it. Sure hope those bits are hiding further down.

I dig in and it's the usual respectable light chocolate ice cream that I've had in other Turkey Hill flavors. It's by no means a hefty pint in my hand and I find myself quickly running through my slightly melting snack. Problem is, I'm still not hitting many peanuts or cups.

The real question here is: Why in the world is this called Stuff'd? There are two obvious reasons why one would come up with this name. My first assumption was that this pint was stuffed with fudge swirls, chocolate peanuts, and peanut butter cups. Well there are plenty of fudge swirls, but that's it. On my first encounter, I met just 2 peanut butter cups and maybe 4 or 5 peanuts and there was only 1 serving left. That's not cool.

Ok, let's try reason number 2: maybe they mean it will make you Stuff'd... Yeah, not happening with this light ice cream. I probably ate close to two servings and I'm not even remotely full. At only 61 grams per serving, this is a very light weight ice cream and I think the only way to make myself stuffed would be to eat the whole thing.... that's not true, I could probably eat the whole thing and still not be stuffed.

Maybe I got a rogue pint, but this was fairly disappointing. It's not that it tastes awful, I just feel let down. Yes it's light ice cream and too many bits would bring up the cost and the calorie count, but then why is it called Stuff'd? I will give Turkey Hill this --- They have truth in advertising.... If you check out the label, you will count 8 peanuts and 3 peanut butter cups. That's exactly how many I found inside my pint of ice cream.

  1. I jus lt had stuff'd and it SUCKS!! The consistency is disgusting and nothing like ice cream or frozen yogurt. It's consistency is fluffy, marshmellowy, filmy, rubbery... So unexpected. And like you said, there was barely and "stuff" in it. I just feel so deceived by the way this mystery substance was packaged and advertised. What a waste of money.
