Breyer's Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream

Having grown up with Breyer's, there's always a certain amount of faith I have in them to serve me a nice, refreshing treat in the form of one of their all natural flavors. When you go Overload! or Double Churned, you can't be sure what to expect, but when they stick to the basics, you are almost always good to go.

Case in point is our new freezer friend, Cherry Vanilla. I've mentioned in the past that I'm not a huge fan of most things cherry, but what Breyer's has done is slip Cherry back to the mild side by blending it into their tasty all natural vanilla ice cream. To me, it's just the right amount of cherry flavor. There are some cherry pieces mixed in, but they've totally mellowed in their new home away from home. So, good job Breyer's, this one was a nice pleasant surprise.

  1. If any of you have grown up eating Breyer's Cherry Vanilla you know that Bryers has been extremely inconsistent with this once glorious product. For one, the cherries used to be more "natural", meaning they weren't candied like they are now. The tub used to be packed with luscious half cherries not the tiny flecks of cherry you get now (which are few anyway). I know the economy is bad, but I can't stand when companies try to hoodwink their customers by using cheaper ingredients, less of the more expensive ingredient or misleading packaging sizes to boost their sales. Case and point, remember how big the Cadbury easter eggs used to be?

Breyer's please change back this horrible impostor that was once was my favorite ice cream! You're taking away the nostalgic qualities of your products!
