[New for 2024] By any chance do you remember when Nick tried a few pints of gelato from the Fresh Market grocery store? Well, we had stopped at the Qdoba in Mansfield when I noticed some random stores in the back part of the plaza. I decided to drive through when I noticed a Fresh Market grocery store! Apparently Fresh Market came to the area in 2024, which was the same year that this debuted:

Smearcase Froco
frozen dairy dessert powered by cottage cheese
There are currently four flavors in all. There's the vanilla bean and strawberry that you see before you, a peanut butter flavor that was out of stock, and then their website also mentions mocha joe (which appears to be the only flavor that has mix-ins).
Lots of protein sounds interesting, but $9.99 for a faux (14oz) pint? That's a bit steep for something I've never heard of. Since Jeni's came down in price, that means this is the most expensive 14-16oz option in the ice cream aisle.
......can I be painful honest for a second? ok, i mean, i try to always be honest, but I try not to be mean... to start a business, you need to be very positive and act like your product is the next big thing. If you go on youtube and look up the founder of smearcase, there's lots of videos of the founder saying wonderful things, but these videos often have single digit views, though some have broken into dozens of views.... and the list of videos just keeps going.... Yes, he can claim being the #1 cottage cheese based frozen dairy dessert, but that feels like me claiming that I'm the #1 cereal eater in my house (because there's minimal competition)*.
I've already started down the youtube road, so let's keep going... oh man, watching a few reviews does not instill any confidence. They arent saying it's terrible, but it's not making me want to run out and spend ten bucks on this new product.
Ok, I need some unbiased opinions, so hopefully a few of you have tried this. If not, would you consider it? I assume it helps if you like cottage cheese in general, but that may not matter.
*Disclaimer: please keep in mind that I've been doing this a long time, I've seen a whole lot of companies and products come and go... and I am approaching grumpy old man status.
*Disclaimer #2: why not send some samples out to bloggers/influencers to get the name out there? I don't even mean me, I mean places like the impulsive buy.
