Coolhaus Milk & Cookie Crumbs Ice Cream

[New for 2019] Keeping the tradition of trying Coolhaus flavors a year after they come out! Yup, it's another pint purchased from the Wegman's trip. I'm really stretching this trip out aren't I? I don't love Coolhaus (because of their texture), but I like to keep an eye on them. So, let's try...

Coolhaus Milk & Cookie Crumbs Ice Cream
chocolate cookie ice cream with a chocolate cookie crumb swirl
(that's snow at the bottom of the pint)

Holy Freholy! Look at that swirl!! Did I just go to swirl heaven?
(this swirl was hiding under a foil seal)

Wait, where did it go????

So this first scooping may not be terribly fair because it's got an extremely high concentration of this tasty cookie swirl. Yeah, this first serving is quite tasty. The swirl smells like brownie batter... and it kind of tastes like it too. It's pretty strong and technically a bit dry on the tastebuds, so I wouldn't go scooping it by itself. When mixed with the base though, yeah, fun times.

We'll see how the second scooping goes. Hopefully there's enough flavor in the base and enough swirl on the sides of the container to keep things interesting.

On Second Scoop: The more I eat this one, the less I like it. Yes, the swirl has kept up (enough anyway), but the coolhaus texture is wearing me down. If I had to describe it, I would say it tastes like it was made with skim milk (even though it is not). I don't know why I keep buying them anyway. No, they aren't bad, but they really aren't for me. Oh well!

Verdict?  wonderful start

Woof! Not surprised, their pints have been a let down and in the Southeast (Publix) it's been the same basic line-up for a while.

Have you ever tried their dairy free varieties? I wonder if they are any better?
