Perry's Key Lime Pie Ice Cream

[New for 2016] Sometimes you just have to wait for the right mood to hit before you try an ice cream. I'm pretty confident this will be a bright flavor, so to me it's more of a morning flavor than a late night snack flavor. I've really wanted to throw this in to a breakfast sundae, but let's go official and try a bowl of....

Perry's Key Lime Pie Ice Cream
key lime ice cream with graham cracker swirls

I can't wait to dig in and find me some swirl!

I take a bite and WHOOOOOOAA that's got some kick to it. I expected nothing less from Perry's though. Those who say Talenti's version is too mild can't make the same comment here.

I tend to get confused on flavors like this because my brain starts registering a bit of a cheezy vibe but if you've read other reviews you know that's not the first time this has happened. It's just the way the boldness comes across to me and I don't know how to describe what I taste.

Visually there is plenty of swirl but it's flavor it's flavor impact is a few notches down from the key lime base. The ice cream itself is fairly light but not gummy. It still breaks down pretty well and also it's not a super gritty texture from the swirl either. It's not a straight base online flavor, but the texture is nothing crazy.

And my bowl is empty. My tastebuds are awake now, that's for sure.

On Second Scoop: So I've been having a lot of fun with this one as part of my morning routine. I've had it on a waffle, I've mixed it with rice krispies, whatever amuses me at that particular moment. The fact that's it's not very dense helps add to that flavor punch. You might sit down and slow scoop a super premium ice cream but this one begs to have some quick fun. This is definitely a bright edition to their line up.

Verdict?  Bright!
Buy Again?  sure
