The Nosh Show #24 and
Chips Ahoy! Ice Cream Creations

Good Morning Nosh Show Listeners!

Episode 24 is now live! You can listen by clicking the player or go visit the nosh show website for more listening options. This week we delve deep in to the new Taco Bell breakfast menu, but not before we have some serious discussions about the new Chips Ahoy! Ice Cream Creations cookies.

Mmmmm, new cookies + fresh ice cream. Let's take a closer look.

First up is the new Dulce de Leche ice cream creations from Chips Ahoy. Ok, the cookies are indeed crunchy, real crunchy, much more so then a regular chips ahoy. They taste more like a sugar cookie with flavor chips. The flavor is cool, and I  like it. They taste nothing like any other chips ahoy product that I can recall. I could easily see downing several of these, which is kind of a shame, since they clock in at 23% of your saturated fat for just two of them. That may not sound like alot, but since I like 5-6 cookies at a time, it kind of adds up.

Whoa, yeah, these cookies are really quite good and I totally expect to be buying many more of them. They made a really nice sundae too. Of all the chips ahoy sundaes I made, this was easily the best as the cookies retained their excellent crunch which played well of the soft caramel gelato. Also, white chocolate chips never hurt anybody, their softness always does well in a sundae.

Next up are the chewy Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies. They remind me of gooey chocolate chips ahoy though that's not necessarily a huge positive for me. They aren't bad, but they aren't hooking me like the Dulce did. These were my daughter's favorite.

The MCC sundae came out pretty good. Unfortunately the ice cream starts to freeze the cookies as their somewhat soft nature becomes rock hard. Still a fun sundae, but you really need to watch your cookie chunk size to avoid being bogged down.

Next up is the chewy Root Beer Float cookies, and as you'll learn from me and others, they do indeed bring the flavor of root beer. It's both food science scary and one funky parlor trick at the same time. These won't be something I crave, but if this intrigues you, go for it, you will indeed get the flavor you are looking for. [note: you may experience the lingering flavor for several hours afterwards as well]

Andy from So Good Blog said this one needed to be in root beer float.

Last up is the chewy Mocha Chunk ice cream creations chips ahoy because you all know Mocha isn't my thing.... and these cookies aren't my thing. While I tried several of each of the other cookies, I was good after just one of these. They smell like coffee beans but they taste very bland to me. I'm just not picking up the mocha (coffee/chocolate) vibe. Yes I'm biased, but a decent product should have been able to get me to eat more than one cookie if I'm hungry. Ahhh, I don't even feel like making a sundae for these.
