Perry's Wildberry Gelato Review

I can't believe I actually waited all day for my frozen treat. Mmmmm, 8 o'clock means tivo and and a big scoop of something. What should we have? ...just kidding, I've had my eye on this all day.

A pint of Perry's All Natural, Italian Style Wildberry Gelato from Wegman's.
I hope it's as tasty as the Cannoli flavor.

Cool. I just pulled back the plastic seal and look what we've got. That's some hardcore berry  bits going on here. I expected to be overpowered by a berry scent to go with it, but it didn't real happen.

Here's another look. Notice the big whole blueberries mixed in, very cool.

You know, this gelato really impresses on the first few bites. The first scoop hit me with true blueberry flavor. The second scoop reminded me that there are strawberries here too. Wow. Usually berry flavor is just a generic lazy term for scraping the bottoms of the berry jars and mixing it into some generic sugary flavor, but not here. No no no, I'm distinctly picking up different berry flavors here, how cool is that?

...well, it would be cool if there wasn't some underlying flavor building up in the background. I don't know what it is, but what seemed quite novel at first is now kind of annoying me. I can't even really tell what the flavor is, but it's messing with everything. I finished my serving, but I didn't really enjoy it.

Update: I'm starting to think I'm crazy because my wife is really digging this one.

Verdict?  Not working for me (but my wife likes it)
Buy Again?  Nope
