Feel free to ignore this post

"feel free to ignore this post".... I have your interest now don't I? hehehehehe, I love reverse psychology, and for those who actually skip this post, it's ok, I'm not offended.

So it's summer time again (officially) and I figured what a better way to get out of the slumps and back into the swing of things than with some local ice cream. Oh I miss Uhlman's and my peaceful lunchtime breaks, if only I could find some place local that was as quaint.... Well, I got a tip that I should check out Gibby's.

Let's just say it didn't go well. First off, I'm in a really bad mood, so we're not starting in a good place. I drive through about 17 red lights and behind one guy who felt that it's ok for his giant beat up truck to take both lanes. I finally get there and I'm a little surprised. Instead of Uhlman's green grass and cool breeze, I find myself in the Gibson Dairy Delivery Truck graveyard. Yes, I know I'm being picky, but it gets worse.

They have several picnic tables which is always good, so I head over to the counter behind a family who has already ordered their lunch, but their little boy doesn't want it, and so he's whining and then whining some more until he gets something else. Meanwhile, the only person on duty is in the back cleaning the grills or something. So I wait... and listen to more whining. Hmmmm, there sure is alot of gum stomped into the ground around here. More waiting. More whining. That's it, I'm taking my bad mood and getting out of here.

See, Gibby's had the chance to win me over, but instead I'm not going back there, there are way too many stop lights between here and there. That's just not my idea of a relaxing lunch break. I know, I am being horribly picky because I'm in a bad mood, but that's why I went to get ice cream in the first place, to cheer myself up.

On the way back to the office, I decided I would try to resolve the situation and pick myself up a twisted frosty. I head to my favorite lunchtime Wendy's, the one that always has a short line.... and the parking lot is full and the drive thru is nearly backed up to the street.

Looks like I've fallen into that viscous cycle we all know. You are in a bad mood, so you think negatively so that no matter what you do, you expect to fail. I spin out of the Wendy's parking lot, head down the street and decide to stop for some gas. Still flustered, I mutter under my breath as some jerk double parks his shiny mustang.... he then proceeds to hold open the door for a lady on the way in, and then goes out of his way to hold the door for a guy in a wheelchair on his way out. Guess he's not such a jerk after all.

Ok, one last chance to save my lunch break. I run into Shaws and pick up the Hershey's Cookies n' Creme Milkshake that someone recommended after I tried the Hershey's Creamy Chocolate Milkshake three weeks ago. Well, color me impressed. No, it's not as thick as a real milkshake, but wow, this tastes exactly like those little hershey cookies 'n' creme candies you can buy. Talk about nailing the flavor down. It's not something I would drink everyday, but if you want to be different, this is definitely one thing to try. And if you love those little candies, you will adore this beverage.
