Breyer's Vanilla & Almond Light Ice Cream Bar

Update: These Double Churn bars are now Carb Smart bars

Breyer's Vanilla & Almond Double Churn Light Ice Cream Bars
light vanilla ice cream with milk chocolate flavored coating and almonds

I just inhaled one of these 3oz Breyer's bars in about 90 seconds. It's light vanilla ice cream and has been coated with a chocolate shell that has almond chunks in it. The vanilla doesn't make much of an impact on you, it's all about that chocolate almond shell. I like it, but I'm going to need to go back for more thorough testing ....resisting the temptation to second scoop now... You are getting a fair amount of saturated fat, probably from the almonds, but that also means you are getting a good serving of protein and fiber.

On Second Scoop: You know, I like them, but they could be better. I don't know what it is, but I feel it's just not 100% there. The chocolate is fine, and you can't miss the almond flavor, but something is keeping this from being as good as it could be. My gut has me thinking the vanilla needs to be a bit stronger: I wonder how this would taste with regular vanilla instead of light vanilla...

On Third Scoop: I didn't notice it before, but the texture of the Breyers kind of has this strange cool whip vibe to the ice cream. Maybe it's just from sitting in the freezer, but there was no freezer burn detectable (the treat box actually does a pretty good job keeping things safe). When I was done the Breyers, I was kinda glad I was done.

Update: These Double Churn bars transformed in to Carb Smart
That means it's full fat ice cream, but now has Splenda! YUCK!
