It was the most disappointing Ben & Jerry's flavor ever.

It's called Truffle Kerfluffle, and the ganache is the selling point here, but it's just way to full of pecans to notice anything else. It's just crunchy vanilla and pecans with a bit of chocolate thrown in.

Maybe they just misnamed this one and set my expectations where they shouldn't have been.

A.J.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-384329692727378622.post-37636599526218747802017-04-10T04:24:17.735-04:002017-04-10T04:24:17.735-04:00I almost forgot to say, funny Candy Bar Pie was me...I almost forgot to say, funny Candy Bar Pie was mentioned above by another commenter. I wish that flavor would be brought back! I wish I could've tried Confetti Cupcake within a few months of when that was first released, but hadn't seen that flavor anywhere in a while. Sigh, I have no idea where I should look for that flavor. I'll keep looking for it, and crossing fingers against slim hope I could find that flavor somewhere. Even perhaps at stores where their prices are a little more expensive, and B&J flavor turnover is less?Allan Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12105421848613958393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-384329692727378622.post-22968364888539063912017-04-10T04:05:06.625-04:002017-04-10T04:05:06.625-04:00Was waiting for the very moment where I'd BOTH...Was waiting for the very moment where I'd BOTH see a sale on Ben and Jerry's flavors, and a store having this in stock. Finally I got lucky on both counts, so bought a pint of Truffle Kerfuffle earlier tonight.

Honestly, I'm glad they came out with this flavor. It's pretty darn good, best new Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor in a while. Glad as of late they're coming out with new flavors, that aren't just Core flavors(was getting tired of those). Just a few weeks earlier I tried Chocolate Cherry Garcia, and that was about what I thought it'd be. Good, but I'm not sure why Truffle Kerfuffle jumps out to me more. Hope to try their other recent new flavors(i.e. Urban Bourbon, Oat of This Swirled) very soon, as well!

Not to forget the Pint Slices ice cream bars, as well. Just waiting to find a sale on those, but I'm sure I will soon. Not sure why B&J discontinued ice cream bars for years since sometime in the 2000s(I think), and only now are bringing those back as 'Pint Slices'.Allan Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12105421848613958393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-384329692727378622.post-48309988656687014702017-02-25T02:20:43.388-05:002017-02-25T02:20:43.388-05:00I wasn't overly impressed with this flavor - b...I wasn't overly impressed with this flavor - but surprisingly loved Chocolate Cherry Garcia. It was pretty good, but I find a vanilla (or vanilla bean) base inherently boring, and the almonds were chopped too fine to have much of an impact, either in the flavor or the texture of the ice cream. I try just about every flavor at least once, but I have no desire to buy it again.

Oat of this Swirled (Safeway had the three new non-exclusive flavors) was good, but it reminded more of Cinnamon Buns than the late lamented Oatmeal Cookie Chunk (still my favorite Ben & Jerry's flavor of all time). The cookie swirl doesn't come close to the euphoria-inducing magic of those large oatmeal cookie chunks.

Except for the massive pecans, Truffle Kerfuffle didn't wow me. Ultimately it was just another vanilla/chocolate combo, with the salty goo of the swirl offering an interesting diversion, but not enough interest to make me want to buy it again.

I like Urban Bourbon best of the three, probably because it didn't have a vanilla base and because Ben & jerry's finally seems to have mastered the salted caramel swirl. Plus the fudge chunks always add the necessary (in my view) texture.

Last note -- I found a limited batch Chocolate Cherry Garcia at Giant (also in DC). I wasn't going to try it at first because Cherry Garcia isn't one of my top five Ben & Jerry's flavors. But curiosity got the best of me and I'm glad it did. The chocolate base was rich and creamy, and those big fat cherries and fudge chunks (I don't know why they're called flakes) actually seemed more pronounced than in the regular cherry ice cream version. I'll definitely buy it again while it's still on the shelves.IceCreamGoddesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02605770723761025076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-384329692727378622.post-63871442016842798742017-02-18T10:37:59.181-05:002017-02-18T10:37:59.181-05:00Wanting to try this but not finding it in Madison,...Wanting to try this but not finding it in Madison, WI anywhere yet.
