Have you had Dean's Ice Cream?

Sorry for the lack of posts, but the goods news is that there are several in the pipeline (the most complete one is about half done). So while I get back on track, I have a question for you all.

How bad is Dean's ice cream?

Crazy Food Dude has two reviews up, one for Dean's Country Churn Denali Moose Tracks and another for Dean's Denali Caramel Caribou, and both make me think that Dean's is a unimpressive low budget ice cream. I know entry level brands can't be perfect, but those pictures have me very unimpressed. Maybe I'm just offended they would taunt the toffee name without actually including much toffee flavor.

If you have an opinion on Dean's, whether good or bad, let us know! I'm curious if all their flavors are like this, or if these are just some bad examples.

(for fellow New Englanders, you know Dean's as Garelick Farms and their TruMoo chocolate milk)

I actually have two more Dean's reviews written and I'll let you in on a little sneak peek...I found one that is pretty solid, while the other was about the same as the two I've already posted.

Basically, I think Dean's is just a budget ice cream that Dean's Dairy is throwing out there so they'll have some sort of wide product array. The funny thing is that it's not really all that cheap when you buy it at full price (close to $5 for 1.5 quarts), so it's not really a budget ice cream at all!

By the way, thanks for the mention and links!

$5? Ouch, Stone Ridge is $3 and they have decent flavors and textures.

No problem, thanks for the reviews! (One more company I don't have to worry about reviewing!)
